Fiberglass composite geotextile is a material reinforced with glass fibers, combined with short-fiber needle-punched non-woven fabric. It differs from ordinary woven fabrics in that the intersection points of warp and weft threads do not bend but remain straight. Binding threads securely tie them together, ensuring uniform synchronization to withstand external forces and distribute stress. When an external force attempts to tear the material, the yarns gather along the initial crack, enhancing tear resistance. During warp-knitting composite processing, warp-knitting binding threads repeatedly pass through the warp, weft, and the fiber layer of short-fiber needle-punched geotextile, weaving the three into one. As a result, warp-knitted composite geotextile combines high tensile strength and low elongation with the properties of needle-punched non-woven fabric. Therefore, it is a multifunctional geocomposite suitable for reinforcement, isolation, protection, and effective water retention and diversion. Its solid matrix and pores form a continuous phase, creating a porous filtration effect.
Product Characteristics:
High tensile strength, low elongation, uniform deformation in both longitudinal and transverse directions, high tear resistance, excellent abrasion resistance, high water permeability, and strong filtration capability.
Main Functions: Reinforcement, drainage, filtration, protection, isolation.
(1) Reinforcement and stabilization: It transfers or distributes localized stress on the soil over a larger area, stabilizing and limiting deformation and settlement in geotechnical engineering over long-term use.
(2) Isolation: Geotextile isolates different geotechnical structural materials to form a stable interface, allowing each to perform according to design requirements and function as a whole.
(3) Protection: Geotextile has puncture resistance, providing protective performance.
(4) Drainage and filtration: Geotextile allows water to pass through while preventing the loss of sand and soil particles. It functions by being placed across channels of flowing liquid with suspended particles to block fine silt while permitting liquid passage.
Engineering Applications:
1. Used for filtration in retaining walls, road slopes, reservoir dams, earth-rock cofferdams, tunnels, and drainage ditches.
2. Used for drainage in road slopes, subgrades, back mountain retaining walls along mountain roads, lower layers of railway ballast, and between highway subgrades and pavements.
3. Used for isolation in building cofferdams, docks, and breakwaters between soft soil and rocks; isolation protection between the bottom of landfill sites and impermeable layers; isolation between filter materials and waste in landfills; and isolation and pavement reinforcement between asphalt pavement and subgrade.
4. Used for layered reinforcement and drainage in slopes of highways and railways, as well as drainage reinforcement in backfilled subgrades and dams.
5. Used for protecting impermeable layers in anti-seepage projects such as artificial lakes, rivers, and reservoirs.
6. Used for isolation between base layers and planting layers in landscaping projects.
7. Used for drainage in soft foundations and reinforcement to enhance the bearing capacity of subgrades.
